Compared to some of the reviews on the quality on other lift and turn items like this, including how much many it would have spend to purchase some authentic moen ones, I decided to give these a try. The reviews were solid, and at least from the picture it looked sturdy and the color is nice, so I said why not.

First off, know that if your drains are older, these run a little smaller, but will still fit fine, so be prepared to do good clean up around your drain where the old one might have left a ring or it will look odd. If you already know how to loosen your drain, these are a cinch to put but you do have to make sure that when you screw them in you balance them properly when you screw it in. I had to go back and re do one drain because water was pooling and I realize it was because I had to slightly adjust the lip.

Also these come with rubber to put under the drain before you install it, but I would suggest you do not use them, and use plumbers putty instead... Read more

This review is from: Belle Foret BFNTDCK1PB Lift and Turn Bath Waste Conversion Kit, Polished Brass (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is the third and final drain of this type I have installed in the past few weeks. The others came from Lowes and an ebay seller. Needless to say, the quality of those was decidedly lacking.

This is a solid piece of hardware. It feels heavy when you first pick it up. The finish is very nice. The bushing is brass, unlike the cheap plastic that Lowes sells. The lift and turn component is solid on its spindle unlike the ebay offering that felt like a wobbly top. And most importantly, when engaged, water stays in the tub.

If I had bought this product instead of trying to save a few bucks on items that were poor quality, I would be have saved money in the end.

Oh yeah, mine is the oil rubbed bronze. Nice color!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, double check box on arrival for correct color., October 6, 2013

We had a handyman install this in our tub drain since our other drain mechanism had broken leaving an open drain hole. We were tired of having to keep the bath toys from flowing fown rhe drain costing expensive plumber visits. our plumber quoted us over $250 to fix our drain :( So i bought this and The handyman said it was super easy to install. It took him less than twenty minutes to do it once he brought the right wrench (sorry, don't know which one he used, but it wasn't a standard one from the tool kit).
The main issue with the unit was that I ordered the chrome set and they sent me the oil rubbed bronze one. Even the box said chrome. It was an annoying inconvinience, but Amazon switched it no problem.
Overall, a good product. It's decent metal, easy to use and doesn't leak.
